Hello from Ellen!

This December has been all events and last minute projects for the holiday markets. I have my new warm cotton scarves in new fabrics this year. They're all just over 5 feet long, to wrap and tie easily. Super soft brushed cotton. You can see above my new ornaments, and original screen printed art. I have new sweatshirts in four colors. And only one hat left, made from the Harris Tweed which I picked up in Scotland not long back. We have quite the event this weekend at Del Ray Artisans! Hope to see you there for my last event of the year.

Custom names that I add on stockings I made.

I made seven of these stockings, modeled after my own beloved childhood stocking, which I still have. Last year after all that work, I sold not one! So this year I made little signs advertising custom names. It's the name which sells, not the stocking! Or maybe I was just at better markets. Either way, only one is now left!

Ellen at Ice and Lights at Cameron Run, Alexandria

My husband and I went to Alexandria's Ice and Lights display at Cameron Run Regional Park on Eisenhower Avenue. There's nothing better than ice skating under the stars, which you can do at their outdoor ice skating rink, which is part of Ice and Lights. We sat at one of the warming fire pits and had hot chocolate.

I've been taking ice skating lessons for years now. It reminds me of skating in Germany as a teen, on the outdoor pond in the local park.
